We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Junior CAD Technician.
Role Purpose
The Junior CAD Technician will support the Estates Director in maintaining, developing and updating property-related drawings and visual information across the Potens Group estate. The role will produce accurate CAD drawings, floor plans, zoning plans, mobilisation drawings and other property planning documentation to support operational, compliance and strategic estate projects. The postholder will also help develop visual estate planning tools and diagrams that communicate property strategies, service developments and future visions across the wider Potens Group.

What you’ll be doing:
- CAD Drawing & Estate Plans
- Create, amend and maintain accurate CAD drawings for all Potens Group properties.
- Produce and update floor plans, site plans, zone plans, fire strategy plans, departmental layouts, mobilisation drawings, and room data and space utilisation plans.
- Ensure drawings remain current following refurbishments, property acquisitions and operational changes.
- Maintain a central library of estate drawings and associated documentation.
- Mobilisation & Project Support
- Support property mobilisation projects through the preparation of CAD plans and visual layouts.
- Assist in developing drawings for new services, acquisitions and property transitions.
- Produce visual information packs to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with operational teams to capture property requirements and implement drawing updates.
- Estate Planning & Visual Communication
- Develop clear and professional visual diagrams to communicate estate strategy and service developments.
- Support the use of digital tools and AI-assisted software to create vision diagrams, estate development roadmaps, process maps, service layout concepts and strategic planning visuals.
- Assist with presentations and reporting materials for senior leadership teams.
- Data & Information Management
- Maintain accurate property records and drawing registers.
- Ensure consistency of drawing standards and file management across the organisation.
- Assist with the collection and verification of property measurements and survey information.
- Support estates compliance records through accurate visual property information.
Who you are:
Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Good organisational and document management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple drawing updates and competing priorities.
Desirable
Experience working within property, estates, healthcare, education or social care environments.
Knowledge of building layouts, space planning or facilities management.
Experience using visualisation software such as Visio, Lucidchart, SketchUp or similar.
Interest in AI and digital technologies for planning and visual communication.
Understanding of mobilisation or refurbishment projects.
